    DAY BY DAY

    Detailed itinerary

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, we begin our journey with a scenic drive to Jinja, Uganda's adventure capital and home to the source of the River Nile. After settling into our accommodation, we enjoy a relaxing boat cruise to the point where the Nile begins its remarkable journey towards the Mediterranean Sea. As the sun sets over Lake Victoria, we toast to the beginning of an unforgettable adventure.

Today is yours to experience the River Nile in whichever way you choose. Jinja is widely regarded as East Africa's adventure capital, offering some of the continent's finest outdoor activities. Those seeking excitement can opt for world-class white-water rafting, kayaking or tubing, whilst others may prefer to unwind beside the river and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this vibrant town.

After breakfast, we travel east towards the foothills of Mount Elgon, where the spectacular Sipi Falls await. Surrounded by rolling hills and some of Uganda's finest Arabica coffee plantations, we begin with an authentic coffee experience, discovering every stage of the traditional production process from bean to cup. Following lunch, we set out on a guided walk to explore the three magnificent waterfalls, following scenic trails through lush vegetation and enjoying some of the most breathtaking views in eastern Uganda. As evening falls, we round off the day watching the sunset before dinner.

Today's journey takes us into one of Uganda's most remote and culturally rich regions: Karamoja. As we travel north-east, the lush green landscapes gradually give way to dramatic rocky hills and open plains, revealing a completely different side of the country. Upon arrival in Moroto, we spend time with members of the Tepeth community, learning about their history, traditions and way of life before returning to our lodge for a restful evening.

We continue our expedition towards the remote Kidepo Valley National Park, widely regarded as one of Africa's most spectacular and least-visited wilderness areas. After settling into our lodge, we head out on our first afternoon game drive across its vast savannahs, where elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and numerous antelope species roam freely. With a little luck, we may also encounter lions and other predators before returning to the lodge for dinner beneath one of Africa's most remarkable night skies.

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring one of Africa's most extraordinary national parks. We begin with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is at its most active and the golden light transforms the savannah into an unforgettable landscape. After lunch and time to relax at the lodge, we return to the park for another game drive, continuing our search for the remarkable wildlife that makes Kidepo home to more than 70 species of mammals.

After breakfast, we embark on one of the expedition's most scenic journeys, travelling across northern Uganda towards Murchison Falls National Park. Following lunch, we enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, lions and, with a little luck, the elusive leopard. By evening, we arrive at our lodge in the heart of the wilderness.

Our day begins with an early morning game drive across the vast savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest protected area. Later, we embark on a boat cruise along the River Nile towards the base of the mighty falls, surrounded by hippos, Nile crocodiles and an extraordinary variety of birdlife. We then visit the top of the falls to witness one of Africa's greatest natural spectacles, where the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically below. Later in the afternoon, we continue to our accommodation in Masindi.

Today's adventure begins with one of Uganda's most unique wildlife experiences: tracking wild white rhinos on foot at the Ziwa White Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in the country where these magnificent animals can be seen in their natural habitat. Accompanied by experienced rangers, we walk across the savannah until we encounter them at close range. Afterwards, we continue westwards to Kibale National Park, arriving in time to relax before tomorrow's unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience.

This morning is dedicated to one of Uganda's most memorable wildlife experiences: chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. Accompanied by experienced guides, we venture deep into the rainforest in search of our closest relatives, observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play and communicate amongst the trees. After a picnic lunch, we continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where another spectacular safari adventure awaits.

Today's adventure begins with an early morning game drive across the vast savannah plains in search of elephants, buffalo, antelopes and, with a little luck, lions and leopards. Afterwards, we visit the Katwe Salt Lake, where local communities have harvested salt using traditional methods for generations. Following lunch, we enjoy one of Uganda's finest boat safaris along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its remarkable concentrations of hippos, Nile crocodiles and waterbirds. We return to the lodge in time for dinner and a relaxing evening.

After an early breakfast, we travel through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. Following a final game drive and a picnic lunch, we continue into the lush highlands of south-western Uganda until we reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of Africa's oldest rainforests and home to almost half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas.

Today is undoubtedly the highlight of our journey. Accompanied by expert trackers and park rangers, we venture into the ancient rainforest in search of one of Bwindi's habituated gorilla families. Depending on their location, the trek may last anywhere between one and eight hours, but every step is rewarded when you finally come face to face with these extraordinary primates. Once the gorillas have been located, we are permitted to spend one unforgettable hour quietly observing their behaviour in their natural environment. Afterwards, we return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest.

After breakfast, we travel to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda's most scenic destinations, surrounded by rolling hills. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or enjoy optional activities such as canoe excursions, guided nature walks or visits to nearby communities. It is the perfect setting to unwind after the excitement of gorilla trekking.

Following breakfast, we continue to Lake Mburo National Park, renowned for its populations of zebras, giraffes, impalas and elands. After lunch at the lodge, we experience the park from a completely different perspective during a guided walking or cycling safari, offering a unique opportunity to observe wildlife at ground level whilst enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Our final morning begins with one last game drive, offering a final opportunity to spot some of Uganda's remarkable wildlife. We then begin our return journey to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for lunch and the traditional photographs. Depending on your international flight schedule, you will have time to freshen up, enjoy dinner and transfer to the airport. As our adventure comes to an end, we leave Uganda with unforgettable memories of the Pearl of Africa.
